Kanabeam and the South West Africa Wildlife Preservation
and Research Institute offers the camper, vacationer and
outdoor enthusiast a wealth of recreational opportunities.
For those who prefer quiet relaxation, there is camping,
sightseeing, bird watching, and wildlife viewing.

For the more adventuresome, we offer marked hiking trails,
basic mountain climbing, nocturnal wildlife viewing, nature
photography, and multimedia presentations on area-
relevant subjects. For our visitor’s convenience, we offer
showers, maintain a well-stocked general store/curio shop
and our fully equipped restaurant is considered unique and
one of the best in the area. Kanabeam borders the Ai-Ais
Richtersveld Transfrontier Conservation Park, that among
other attractions include the Ai-Ais Hot Springs and Fish
River Canyon which is second only to the Grand Canyon in
the United States of America in scenic beauty. We also
welcome business meetings, family groups, school groups
and church retreat groups.
